Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) Statement

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) Statement – Updated January 2026

The Dons Trust is the majority owner of AFC Wimbledon (“the Club”), a fan-owned, inclusive club, rooted in our community – with equality and inclusion at its core. The Trust is guardian of the principles and aims which guide the Club and its associated organisations.

This statement reflects our commitment to the EFL’s Equality Code of Practice and is endorsed by the Dons Trust board. We are committed to engaging with all members of our community and ensuring that everyone who wishes to engage with the activities of the Trust, has a real and equal opportunity to do so. We aim to actively promote awareness of the benefits of equality, inclusion and diversity. Football belongs to everyone.

The Dons Trust strives to be a positive, inclusive and representative organisation, open and accessible to all supporters of the Club regardless of age, income, ethnicity, gender, gender re-assignment, disability, sexuality, marital status or religious or moral belief. All our policies, processes and procedures are developed with ED&I principles in mind. Members and volunteers who are found to be in breach of these policies will face disciplinary action, in line with the Dons Trust’s Disciplinary Policy.

The Dons Trust has a dedicated Board member who leads on ED&I and works closely with the Club’s ED&I Lead to ensure that everyone who wishes to engage with AFC Wimbledon and its associated organisations has a real and equal opportunity to do so. The Board lead attends the Club’s ED&I Working Group. The dedicated Board member can be identified and contacted using the information here.

We recognise that the mental health and wellbeing of all players, staff and stakeholders is vital to the success of the Trust and the Club. We support the Club in responding swiftly and supportively to any mental health or welfare concerns and in training staff to identify and assist those in need.
As part of our commitment to the eradication of discrimination in football and the promotion of equality, inclusion and diversity, we are fully supportive of the work of campaigns and organisations such as Kick It Out and The Football Supporters’ Association.
